EcoFlow Wave 2 Review

Installation …

After the details, we now come to the assembly and installation of the mobile air conditioning system with additional battery and/or power station.

The EcoFlow Wave 2 air conditioning can not only be connected directly to the socket, but can also be operated either with this special 1159 Wh additional battery or with various power stations from EcoFlow, depending on the desired capacity. For example, you need a Delta 2 Max or just the Delta 2 Max additional battery and a slightly longer XT150 charging cable from EcoFlow, as the Wave 2 only comes with a permanently connected 230 V cable with a Schuko plug.

The special Wave 2 additional battery is mounted directly under the Wave 2 by placing the approx. 14.5 kg air conditioning unit on the approx. 7.8 kg battery and then pushing it forwards.

The extremely short XT150 connection cable supplied with the battery is then plugged into the device and the battery. The battery should be switched off beforehand and the Wave 2 disconnected from the power supply.

And this is how everything looks when fully assembled, whereby we have already attached the cable holder here, where the power cable can be wound up.

However, you should be relatively careful during installation and transportation, because if you move the air conditioning unit too much, you should leave it to stand still for around 2 hours before switching it on so that the R290 refrigerant is evenly distributed again. The air conditioning unit is constructed like a conventional air conditioning unit and consists of an evaporator, a compressor for compression and a condenser for condensation, whereby, depending on the direction, you get a heat pump or a refrigeration machine.

On the next page, we take a look at the possible combinations with the extension battery in practice.
