Result and general impression …
These Shelly devices can also convince in our Shelly Door Window 2, Shelly Motion 2 and Shelly Flood review and the price is very good as it is typical for Shelly.
The Shelly Door Window 2 reliably helps monitor windows and doors and shines with its additional integrated tilt sensor. Only the necessary 2x CR123A batteries are a bit annoying, but should last up to 18 months according to Shelly.
The Shelly Motion 2 detects not only the movement, but also the brightness and even still the temperature, so you can save a lot of devices and evaluate an interesting combination of the different sensors for different scenes. And even a Li-Ion battery is integrated.
The Shelly Flood provides a loud alarm in case of water damage of any kind and even measures the temperature in addition. Here, too, an alert via email or app notification is possible and the alarm sound can be disabled as desired (as described on the Shelly practical testing page). However, the Shelly Flood does not have an integrated rechargeable battery, but you need a CR123A battery for this as well.
Generally, you have to consider which components you need and which ones make sense for the respective application.
The initial setup is theoretically very simple thanks to the app. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that a device cannot be programmed via the app right away, but direct access via IP address helps in that case. Once this step is done, the devices work very reliably.
Therefore, we can also give a recommendation this time, but would like to see integrated Li-Ion batteries for all devices from an environmental point of view.
